  HOME GARDENS PROJECT   CURRENT
PROGRAMS

Tierra Lucero's Home Gardens Project provided individuals and families in need with the means to grow fresh, organic produce in their own backyards — even in the harsh climate and short growing season of Northern New Mexico.

Teaching people how to grow their own fresh vegetables is the most effective long-term solution for poverty-related malnutrition and hunger, and to establish meaningful, local food security.

The Home Gardens Project installed free backyard vegetable garden packages for low-income, elderly and disabled people in Taos County, as well as community organizations and schools.

We installed over 50 backyard gardens from Questa to Santa Fe.
